Privacy Policy

[META-NOTE: A surveillance capitalism newsletter with a privacy policy. We are aware of the irony. Here is ours — and we mean it.]

Effective date: 2026-06-23

1. What we collect

Ghost in the Machine collects only what is required to deliver the newsletter: your email address, an optional mobile number if you opt in to SMS alerts, and basic delivery telemetry from our email service provider (whether emails were delivered, opened, or links were clicked).

2. What we do not do

We do not use tracking pixels on our website. We do not run third-party behavioral analytics. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers, advertisers, or third parties for marketing purposes. The tools we cover in the newsletter are tools we do not use on you.

3. Third-party processors

We use a single email service provider to deliver issues and process unsubscribes. That provider processes the minimum information needed to deliver your mail. We do not authorize them to use your data for any other purpose.

4. Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any issue, or by emailing privacy@ghostinthemachine.media. On request, we will delete your email address and any associated data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Children

This newsletter is intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18.

6. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a material way, we will note the change at the top of this page and email active subscribers.

7. Contact
